This is Going to Clear Up Her World

At 21, Stella hadn’t had glasses since childhood. Her vision was so poor she couldn’t drive, work, or see faces across a room. Dr. Lawrence, our volunteer ophthalmologist, discovered she could see 20/20 with correction and connected her with glasses for just $50. “This is definitely going to clear up her world!” he said. Today, Stella has her license, a job, and a future full of possibilities she can finally see clearly.

Dr. Lawrence has volunteered in our eye clinic for 8 years, but everything changed when Sarah Demeter joined as our Ophthalmic Technician. “MOJ has never had a volunteer with Sarah’s expertise,” the eye clinic volunteers say, calling her a “God-send.” This partnership now provides high-quality, coordinated eye care that patients couldn’t access anywhere else.
